This blog is my compilation of genealogical research for random people, some of which may be related to me, and some of which may not be related to me. My purpose of this blog is to create a record of research for people who I believe have become forgotten over time. I may be wrong in my assumption that they have been forgotten, but I want to continue celebrate their memories and stories that I unravel. Some of the people I come across may have difficult stories, whereas others may have happy endings.
I paid my first visit to the Polk County Genealogical Library in Bartow, Florida today. Coincidentally, I had volunteered at the Polk County Historical Museum (Now called the Polk County History Center) in Bartow for several months in 2009-2010 doing an inventory of their really cool artifacts. Unfortunately, I never paid a visit to the Library on the 2nd floor despite the fact that it shares the same building as the History Center. I am excited to have found a wealth of information for genealogical researchers looking for data in the Southeastern U.S. My "To-Do" list is going grow quite long in a short period of time. I would like to use this blog as an avenue to show off my findings.
I hope that people will be able to find interesting data and possibly family links through my research. I am not a professional genealogist and I only do this as a hobby.
